Our visit to the Holiest of Holy cities in India is Rishikesh and Haridwar. Below is the Mother Ganga River and as you can see people bathe themselves here to receive immortality and on the other hand here is where they are cremated…both existing at the same time. Life and death. The Ganga is the Mother and the sky filled with the sun going down for the evening prayers of Aarati represents Father Sun. Our visit to Gandhi's home of refuge and prayer was unexpected as Diane (Diane de Terra) and I wandered through the city. The museum told Gandhi's story through a series of questions and photos. The Rulindo District situated in the Northern Province of Rwanda, not far from Kigali, was the scene of devastation during the genocide. Almost two decades on the wounds of that genocide are still very much felt, and reconciliation in the area is a necessary and continuous task. In light of this, Shalom Educating for Peace (an organization in collaboration with COE) has been involved in the creation of a dialogue space where people may come to discuss their stories and find restoration. In this...

Once I was conducting a survey in the village, I found two orphan girls crying. They were in school dress, which led me to ask why they were crying. They said, “our mother does not have money for our school fees and we want to study more. Our village school is up to fifth class and now we need to go to the city by bus or rickshaw to get enrolled in middle or sixth class but for that we need money. We don’t have a brother and our father died some years back. Our mother used to stitch clothes of...

Corina Simon, Romania I wish children and youth from the very first moments of 2012 to actively search and define their dreams for their personal growth, betterment of the local and global human community and in service to the Earth. All our wishes may come true if we work together and build bridges that re-connect us in Unity and Empowerment. My vision for 2012 is a resurgence of good news all over the planet, joy and hope returning to the furthest corners of the world, young people taking...
