Kehkashan from UAE Youngest Winner of NRI of the Year Award

Kehkashan Basu, leader of the UAE hub, is the recipient of the NRI of the Year Award which recognizes the exemplary work of Non-Resident Indias. The award was presented in Mumbai, India on April 10th by the Times Group, India's largest media house. There were over 30,000 applicants this year from around the globe. Kehkashan was recognized in the Academics category and has become the youngest ever winner. Kehkashan was recognized for the work she has been doing to empower young people across the region and internationally, promoting peace and sustainable development, particularly with regard with the right to education, gender equality and combatting climate change and also her all round academic and extra-curricular achievements, which includes winning the HH Hamdan Award for Academic Excellence twice in 2010 and 2013. The occasion was made even more special by the presence of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan who won the Global Icon award.
