One Humanity Institute Fund

May 30, 2018

The One Humanity Institute, in partnership with ICV, is pleased to announce the launch of the One Humanity Institute Fund which shall support the building of A City of Hope in Auschwitz-Oświęcim, Poland, where visitors experience the stark realities of the past alongside models of transformation for a culture of sustainable peace and the uniting of humanity. This is a place for peace education in an environment where more than 2 million visitors each year will come to imagine a new future together, where future generations will leave empowered to be the change they want to see in the world and to spread the message of “Never again.”

The One Humanity Institute will serve as a global peace epicenter, with buildings for formal and non-formal education with global exchanges, the experiential Museum of One Humanity, a media library and research center, a conference center, a peace garden and a hall of reflection and understanding, lodging and a villa retreat, and cooperative organizational offices, where peacebuilders and peacekeepers will gather to share ideas and evaluate opportunities to create a more secure and sustainable world. “The very word Auschwitz is synonymous with one of the darkest chapters of our human history. Thus, there is no more fitting place for creating a center to educate people about the unimaginable hate that we’re capable of, but a center that will also teach about our capacity for love and compassion. A place where people can be inspired with a vision of a world where we live together with respect for each other and for creation. A world of sustainable peace. This can only happen as a result of unprecedented unified action.”

– Dr. Jane Goodall
