Transform Sandy Hook Elementary into a School for Peace Education
The tragedy that took place at Sandy Hook Elementary this past December was devastating beyond words. 26 lives were taken by senseless violence. There have been calls to tear down this elementary school, to try and lessen the deep pain the families and community. Yet how does tearing down the edifice truly lessen the hurt? Even more so, how does it honor those who lost their lives? Newtown resident and a Connecticut team leader for the Peace Alliance, Veronica Marr has challenged that to truly honor the memory of those slain, the school should be turned in to a center for Peace Education. This school could use tools such as: Rites of Passage, Heart Math Technology, Restorative Justice, Conflict Resolution, and Nonviolent Communication. These are just a few examples of what might be taught at the Sandy Hook School for Peace Education Technologies.

Instead of tearing down the walls of Sandy Hook Elementary School (in our struggle to delete those very dark memories), we fully embrace the LOVE OF THESE ANGELS. We OPEN OUR HEARTS WIDE. With great respect, we Scribe their names and their Declaration of Peace Education upon our hearts and onto the Sandy Hook Elementary School building. We use this facility and establish:

As students of SHSPET, we walk onto this campus with profound respect … and in a State of Grace. We understand that LOVE has called us to take a Sacred Oath: as Emissaries for Peace Education, we honor those who perished on DEC 14, 2012.
We offer THEIR gift of Peace to the world.
The SHSPET will offer brilliant, cutting edge instruments for Peace Education. The curriculum will research and develop protocols and sustainable models of Peace Practices and Technologies that become the accepted standard guidelines for COMPULSORY PEACE EDUCATION. These Models are based upon SCIENCE and guided by the HEART.
