COE at the New Earth Camp 2011

March 8, 2011

On the weekend of the 25th-27th of February 2011, more than 70 people (including members of COE’s Swiss/European HUB) came together at the “Unspunnen Villa” in Wilderswil, Switzerland to collectively explore the issues that we face in the modern world and to envision sustainable solutions for the future. The “New Earth Camp” was based on an open structure of cooperation and collective responsibility, where the participants determined the content of the workshops, speeches, discussions and interaction during the event.

The screening of the documentary film HOME, by French Photographer Yann-Arthus Bertrand, opened and set the mood for the weekend’s camp, by reminding the participants that all of us share the responsibility to care for our planet.

Many interesting workshops, presentations and discussions came up, touching upon topics such as: science, consciousness, spirituality, meditation, economy, politics, education and alternative healing. COE’s Swiss/European Hub members also contributed to the event. Reto Biedermann, facilitated a “Healing Circle”, Rebecca Inauen gave a presentation on “Sustainable Architecture” and Karoline Buys, COE’s International Program Coordinator presented the work of COE and gave a guided meditation.

The beauty of this open structure was that knowledge was freely shared, new initiatives were developed and connections were made between like-minded people, working voluntarily together towards a good cause. The weekend was a true celebration of our Love and connection with Mother Earth and all living Beings.
