ACTION PLANS FOR IDP
Cameroon, Fuhbang Emmanuel Tanifum
Organize a conference on that day for 250 participants who will be taught a non-violent approach to conflict resolution. Participants will march together to a tree planting ceremony and each will have the opportunity to plant a tree.
Kenya, Deborah Oriana Ikroot
A project targeting 50,000 or more youth, using positive media to highlight youth, peace and sustainability.
Rwanda, Clark (Vema Ntahmuhaga), Jean De Dieu Basabose
Organize a community dialogue session with community members in Rulindo Districy, Rusiga Sector. The session will focus on ways to sustain peace within our community for a sustainable future.
Various activities are being planned which align with this year’s theme of “Sustainable Peace for a Sustainable Future”. For the third year College Baptiste de Ngarama (COBANGA) will collaborate with Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM), Shalom Educating for Peace, COE (Children of the Earth), Ngarama Sector authorities and others to educate Rwandan students on peace. Through this Peace Building program, students have developed capacities for educating their fellow students and community members through songs, theater, and sports.
The IDP 2012 celebration will take place on 22 September 2012 at COBANGA. The celebration will include a tree planting activity as well as singing, poetry, theater and football competitions.
At least 900 participants are expected to attend the event.

Pakistan, Ashfaque
On September 21, 2012 there will be a walk with school children. We will hold a dialogue session with local peace makers in one of our project schools. The topics to be discussed include the possibility of peace in Afghanistan, the relationship between India and Pakistan, and the possibility of resolution between local tribes. We are hoping to include some local police officers in the dialogue.
We will also distribute ten new dresses to the women of Darul Aman, a women’s shelter in Sukkur. This will allow these women to wear new dresses in the tradition of Eid ul fitar, the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
United Arab Emirates, Kehashan Basu
We will be holding a peace concert on the evening of 21st September, organized by my music school. In the morning, our core group will be distributing "care packages" to the underprivileged laborers at their camp accommodation.
Mother Teresa once famously said that "Peace begins with a smile". I hope to begin 21st September with a smile, not just for myself but for everyone I come in contact with.
Netherlands, Saskia Troy MacIntyre
Introduce three teenage girls from diverse backgrounds and do a service learning project in which they speak with me about friendship, tolerance and their various cultural backgrounds.

Romania, Rodica Pop
In Baia Mare, Romania, we will have a gathering at 12 o'clock around a special fir tree called The Tree Of Peace. On the 9th of 9 in 1999, at 9:09, more than 500 children buried all of their war-toys and planted this wonderful fir tree! There will be a peace prayer ceremony and a moment of silence for all or the peace makers who have passed away. We may also launch some white pigeons in the sky, as a message of peace for the whole world!
Vermont
Fifty Burlington Students of diverse cultures from Burlington High School, Winooski High School, Essex Junction High School and South Burlington High School are invited to participate in a peace-building workshop. Following the initial workshop the students will travel to the United Nations in New York City for the Peace Day event on the International Day of Peace, September 21. Youth leaders of Diversity Rocks, a youth organization of Burlington, will work side by side with their American born peer leaders to build on-going community projects, in hopes of being selected to present at UN on a Peace Day in the future.

On September 21, 2012 which is the International Day of Peace, I am M.A.D. (Making A Difference) will launch its income generating project called "Buy a Toy, Share the Joy" for the benefit of the Batang Iskolars especially those coming from the conflict areas in the Philippines. All proceeds will be going to the Batang Iskolar Program of I am M.A.D. which will be used to purchase toys for them this Christmas.
